What is SWIIP3?

SWIIP3 is a Project based initiative conceptualised to integrate gender considerations and the Sustainable Development Goals in Nigeria’s Public–Private Partnerships (PPPs), toward influencing the way PPP Infrastructure is planned, designed, procured and operated throughout the PPP delivery life cycle.

As a non-profit project initiative, committed to applying global best practices in integrating gender-focused considerations into the entire PPP life cycle namely: development stage, procurement, implementation and maturity.

Created in 2018, the project has set the country’s PPP Infrastructure on a path of change through identifying gender-focused areas in the PPP delivery life cycle which gender features can be incorporated in the life of the PPPs, dialoguing and Focus Group Discussions, and knowledge transfer to improve impact of PPP Infrastructure on all gender groups in Nigeria and the continent of Africa.

The Project brings together subject matter experts from diverse backgrounds, bringing with them diverse points of view on the novel and unique subject matter of gender in PPPs, through Focus Group Discussions.

The Project transfers knowledge and develops capacity of public and private sector practitioners and groups in the PPP Space.

The project develops a framework, envisioned to identify and highlight areas in PPP infrastructure delivery process which will transform PPP Infrastructure into gender-responsive Infrastructure projects.
